ATS comes in all shapes and forms so the actual answer is that it depends.
Most recruiters have a keyword filter which they internally refer to as "Boolean". Since the hiring managers and recruiters spend a lot of time coming up with a job description, it is generally a good idea to go through them and look at skills that are missing from your resume.
If that keyword or skill applies to you, make sure to add them to your skills section or your experience bullet point.
Do not add keywords to your resume that might not be applicable to you. Please read about the disadvantages of keyword stuffing.
